Natur- und Wanderliebhaber bieten sich viele Möglichkeiten, auf den Wanderwegen entlang
der malerischen Küste von Amalfi spazierenzugehen. Die Lattari-Berge, die sich von Cava
dei Tirreni bis nach Punta Campanella erstrecken, bilden den Höhepunkt einer der
eindrucksvollsten und berühmtesten Gegenden der Welt. Ein beeindruckendes Schauspiel,
eine bezaubernde Landschaft aus steil abfallenden Felsen über den "herabhängenden
Wellen", wie der große Homer sich auszudrücken pflegte.
Der Hochweg der Lattari-Berge bietet Wanderwege für einen ganz
außergewöhnlichen Urlaub: der Weg führt durch die Stille der Gebirgslandschaft, die ein
beeindruckendes Panorama abgibt, weit weg von den lärmenden Autostraßen. Sie kommen
direkt in Kontakt mit der üppigen mediterranen Vegetation der Felsenlandschaft, die
dieser Gebirgskette ihren Namen verliehen hat.
Die Wege, die an geschichtsträchtigen Stellen unvergleichlicher Schönheit
vorbeiführen, sind leicht begehbar: sie sind für alle geeignet, die ein bißchen
Erfahrung im Wandern haben.
Jugendgruppen und Naturliebhaber organisieren ökologische Wanderungen für Touristen, die
die Natur wiederentdecken möchten, die wieder eins werden wollen mit der Natur, die
woanders ihre ureigenen Farben und Gerüche bereits verloren hat.

from Praiano
Woods
Wood territory of town of Praiano extends on a whole surface of 30 hectars; the most
extended area is named "il Campo" (the Field), exending up to Fontanelle valley,
where St. Domenico church and convent are sited; it is possible to reach it bya flight of
steps, recently restored.
Water courses
Praia wallon; it marks naturallimit between Praiano town and Furore one; it ha
torrents.
Caves and Karst cavities
St. Domenico cave: Karst cavity near homonimous cavity; it can be reached by
pedestrian street Fontanelle-St. Domenico.
Itineraries
( 1)
From Vettica Maggiore place it is possible to reach Colle Serra (578 metres) and from here
it is possible to admire a wonderful landscape on all the peninsula. Time taken 1 hour and
30 minutes.
( 2)
Leaving from St. Luca church, you have to run Cella street and panoramic Piane street, up
to reach Furore. Time taken 1 hour.

from Positano
( 1)
From Arienzo place you go up by 1834 steps at Nocelle (420
metres) and from here to Montepertuso, by Fontana Vecchia to Valle Pozzo, in order to
reach St. Maria del Castello (685 metres). Time taken 3 hours.
( 2) From
Liparlati street you go up through Grado street at Montepertuso. Time taken 1 hour.
( 3) From
Corvo place, through St. Giuseppe district you go up at St. Maria del Castello. Time taken
1 hour and 30 minutes.
( 4) From
Montepertuso cross-roads you go up towards Capo d'Acqua and Croce, joining Lattari street,
crossing in height Sorrentino-Amalfitana Peninsula. Time taken 2 hours.

from Amalfi
Parks, woods and replanted territories
Pogerola Mount; of municipal property, extended for 1,50 ectars; composed of
conifers and broad-leaved, with access from municipal street to the Castle.
Cappuccini wood in Tabor place, extended for 2 ectars, composed of broad-leaved, in
ilex prevalence, with access to Cappuccini hotel.
These woods present a typical mediterranean vegetation, also with mirth and arbutus. As
far as fauna is concerned, it is assumed that among the others there are blackbird and
Italian fox.
Pogerola Mount; reafforestation of black and Aleppo pines made during years 55-60.
All the territory of Amalfi Coast is inserted in "Parco di monti Lattari"
(LattariMounts Park), founded with regional lex n. 33/91, but neither perimetral nor
activated.
Fauna
Blue rockthrush (protected species); it builds its nest in rock rovines and in
abandoned ruins exposed toward south. Rare hawk (protected species); also it builds its

species); generally prefers caves for nest-building and it is found also at low altitude;
Spotter little salamander, placed in microenvironment with high moisture rate around ruins
of old forges.
Water courses
( 1) Canneto
Stream It finds its birth from "lama dei gatti" place in Scala town, crosses
natural reserve of Forges Valley and joins into Amalfi territory running over Grevone
wallon river-bed, marking natural borders between Scala and Amalfi towns. It flows into
Amalfi big Marina.
( 2)
Leaving from Amalfi - St. Basilio you arrive to Pogerola
hamlet, pto cross Riulo place up to Tavernate plateau (time taken 2 hours).
( 3) It
always begings from Cartiere street, crosses Grotte street and leads to Pontone hamlet in
Scala town (time taken 1 hour).
( 4)
Amalfi - Orientated natural reserve. From comunal Paper-mills street you skirt Grevone
wallon, in which Canneto river runs, up to arrive to Mills valley and to ancient forges
ruins, in homonymous valley (the access to reserve is however authorized on request to ex
firm of Stato Foreste Demaniali -Public Forests State); time tekaen 2 hours.

from Furore
( 1)
Punta St. Elia; it can be reached by Schiato-St. Elia road. After leaving the car around
homonimous church, you walk along parish large square and walking among olive-trees and
picked pears you arrive on Madonna di Crevano abysses. Time taken 1 hour.
( 2)
Centena-St. Alfonso-St. Barbara: ancient cattle-track that starts from km 10 of SS 366.
Time taken 1 hour.
( 3) From
amalfitana road, east side of bridge on the fiord, you go down toward the neck, where it
is possible to visit old paper-mill and old mill. Time taken 15 minutes.
