GUEST BOOK 2016
“Paradise At Hotel Onda Verde, Praiano On The Amalfi Coast”
It would be easy to pass by this exquisite gem of a structure because all that is visible from the street is a glimpse of an elevator with a large enough glass enclosure to allow for parking spaces (There is no additional charge for parking.). This amazing architectural wonder has been built with the supporting foundation of a mountain. Imagine the lobby being the level, minus 6th floor and my room being on level minus 4.
When we arrived exhausted, the hotel staff quickly registered us and showed us to our room 114. As usual the hotel rooms are not as large as those in the U.S. but the room was beautifully appointed and furnished with a huge balcony with chairs to sit on while watching the sunset over the sea. Of course, we had free WIFI throughout the premises
This boutique luxury family owned hotel is managed with the emphasis on exceptional customer service with the personal touch. The Hotel Onda Verde offers concierge services which include making reservations for massage services (which are out of this world for 80 euros), selling bus tickets, reserving seats on the boats (at the bottom of the hotel steps), ordering car services and taxis, booking side day tours, providing directions, suggestions and a host of other duties. The host managers Mr. Francesco and Mr. Moro treat each guest with the utmost consideration, diplomacy and tact. They went out of their way to accommodate us and all our requests. They are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. This means that we could rely on their suggestions and information. Before we left this lovely space, we felt that were a part of this hotel family.
It has multiple exterior sections with comfortable lounge chairs as throughout the premises. Some areas have overhead type coverings for those who wish to avoid the sun while other patios are open. The entire place including our room is elegantly decorated throughout with the Italian/ Mediterranean influence of terracotta and ornately decorated tiles, high ceilings, chandeliers, Florentine style furniture; colorful ceramic pottery; an abundance and variety of plants and flowers; and many other creative touches. The swimming pool looks like a mountainous waterfall that is wide enough for people to have a good swim.
There is a fine sophisticated full service restaurant / Bar, “Ristorante Franchino” which comes highly recommended on the premises of Hotel Onda Verde. In the mornings there is a complimentary breakfast which offers a huge selection of delicious choices.
The location is great. There is a bus (Sita Sud) out front of the hotel to take guests to Positano or Amalfi within 20 minutes. You can take a connecting bus from Amalfi to Ravello and from Positano to Sorrento. The boats down the steps from Hotel Onda can take you to Amalfi or Positano or any of the other secluded nearby beaches. There are daily morning ferries one can take from Positano to Capri.
Hotel Onda has direct access to one of the more popular beaches, Marina di Praia.
Also, Praiana is a major starting or ending point for the popular hiking trail named, "Path of the Gods." For nightlife there is the close by nightclub discotheque, bar and restaurant for the glamorous celebrity like young peoples. Africana.
“What a magnificent place”
We recently stayed at Hotel Onda Verde for 5 nights. It is truely spectacular and a very special place to spend your time on the Amalfi Coast. We enjoyed not being in the busy town of Positano. Easy access to other towns via the bus (bus stop right by the hotel entance) and by boat (marina close by).
Awesome views for breakfast or an evening drink.
The staff were excellent and always willing to help with booking of trips, restaurants and suggestions. Fernanda, you are the best!!!
The wi-fi in the room was a bit erratic and didn't always function properly.
“Stunning Views and Beach Access”
This was our second stay at the Onda Verde and more beautiful than our first. The Milano family have made a few improvements since our last visit in 2012. The pool on the 3rd floor with jets and waterfall in addition to the stunning views from the pool is the largest improvement. You may be considering to stay in the more popular Positano, but this hotel in Praiano has some advantages. First, the views of the Amalfi coast are incredible whether it be from your room or the restaurant; second, there is quick access to a beautiful beach in a cove within minutes walk; third, if you want to jump into the Mediterranean from rocks, you can rent a sun bed from La Pirata, a small bar and restaurant just below the Onda Verde; the pool as mentioned; a fantastic restaurant with an incredible menu, just to name a few. Positano is a short 10 minute water taxi ride away, which I would recommend for the views entering the Bay Area of Positano (€15 one way). Amalfi is 10 minutes the opposite direction. Add a few more minutes if you take the bus which is right outside the hotel and costs €2.30 one way. This hotel is not in a busy touristy area which makes it much more intimate and gives you easy access to the other more popular places on the Amalfi coast. The hotel offers package with evening dinners and a trip to amazing Capri. This is a must trip as there are some unforgettable views from several places on the island. Because this hotel is family run, you will get the personalized service you expect. We are grateful to Francesco, who once again welcomed us with open arms and accommodated us with all requests. Anna who welcomed us every morning for breakfast. A fantastic experience once again! Grazie to the whole Milano family and their team! This was again, another forgettable trip.
“Beautiful and awesome!”
The hotel has a wonderful view and very kind staffs. The closest beach is small and cosy. The restaurants are nice too! The new swimming pool at the hotel and the space next to it was very nice and quiet.
“Our Honeymoon”
My husband and I (that sounds good!) stayed at the Onda Verde for 10 days from June 13th. We flew to Naples, got the ferry from the port of Naples to Sorrento and then 2 buses to hotel! Rather long journey but saw some beautiful sights and saved about €50 compared to getting cab.
On arrival to the hotel we were warmly welcomed and our cases were taken to the room. We booked a double room with sea view terrace(105). My husband had emailed ahead to advise we were on honeymoon and requested the best room they could offer. They didn't let us down. The room was light, airy, clean, plenty of storage for clothes etc. The view from the room across the bay was stunning. Our terrace was large, 2 deckchairs and a table and chairs. We were only 20 or so steps down to the beautiful restaurant which overlooked the sea. You could eat outside or in - we always chose outside. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, in particular Fernada who worked on the front desk. Food at the hotel is very good. We stayed on a bed and breakfast rate and had 3 evening meals in the hotel. The breakfast was always good, with lots of variety. There were nearby places to eat although some involved climbing lots of steps if you went into Praiano town itself. Prices at the hotel and nearby restaurants were all very similar, neither cheap nor expensive. The food in all the places we ate was delicious and we pretty much exclusively ate seafood for the entire 10 days. We didn't hire a car - we walked, took buses and on one day hired a moped. We went to Positano, Capri, Amalfi and Pompei all very good.
If you are wanting to swim in the sea, you have two nearby choices. A small beach just a short walk away with 3 bars/restaurants, along with access to sea taxis. Or just underneath the hotel there is a bar/restaurant called Il Pirata. Here you can have beautiful seafood for lunch, lovely cocktails and drinks in general and hire sun beds. The sun beds are situated on a sea platform on the rocks and you access the sea via a ladder. This location was our preference.
The only minor disappointment was that on this very happy occasion, noone from this small family run hotel congratulated us on our wedding. This was despite my husband sending two emails, one of which requested as a surprise to me, flowers, fizz and fruit in the room to celebrate our marriage. On day 10 I mentioned it to Anna, daughter of Miro(owner) who was full of congratulation and happiness for us. We had our final meal in the hotel that night and as a surprise and nod to our marriage, they gave us a lovely selection of desserts to share.
We had the best 10 days on the Amailfi Coast and were sad to leave the hotel. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will perhaps return one day.
“Perfect!”
We stayed for five wonderful nights at this beautiful friendly hotel. Everything about it was perfect. The room was immaculate with a stunning view. The staff were incredibly friendly. We intended to eat in once or twice, but ended up eating there every night as the food was very good and very fairly priced. We were very late arriving as we were delayed at the airport, but we were greeted at 1am with great courtesy by the owner. We took boat trips to Positano and Capri from the little harbour a two minute walk away. Cannot fault this fabulous hotel. Thank you to the Milano family and their staff for giving us such a great holiday. We will be back soon!
“Awesome Hotel - Would Return in a Minute!”
Stayed for three nights in late June, everything was perfect. The room was beautiful -- a little small, but just fine with an amazing view overlooking the cliffs and ocean. The breakfast buffet was so good we never wanted to leave in the morning. Also had dinner there one night, one of the best meals of our trip. Front desk was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Francesco. Nice infinity pool looking out over ocean, good place to meet/talk to other travelers from around the world. Location is also great -- much quieter than Amalfi or Positano, but easy to get to via bus or water taxi (highly recommend water taxi). We even walked to Positano for exercise -- only about 4 miles or so.
“A Little Slice of Heaven On The Amalfi Coast”
My family spent 3 nights at the Hotel Onda Verde - we wished we could have stayed longer! Everything about this property was wonderful - and magical. We were greeted by the owner who personally showed us the rooms (our family had 3) he had chosen for us - with other choices available.
The room(s) were well appointed, modest in size, immaculate - the most impressive feature is that each and every room at this hotel has an amazing balcony view of the Amalfi Coast - I cannot overstate what a joy it was to wake up everyday and have the panoramic views we had!
As for the food choices, the buffet breakfast was varied, fresh, and served wonderfully. We had a family dinner in the dining room as well - a truly memorable meal - all dishes were wonderful.
The location of the property is a bonus as well. Being in Praiano, away from the clutter of Amalfi and Positano was a blessing. The hotel has it's own parking area (a MAJOR perk) with an elevator that makes access to the lower floors and beach quite simple.
Getting around, one can take a bus to any town along the Amalfi, or a water taxi (recommended but pricey)
There are also 2 exceptional restaurants just below the hotel near sea level as well.
All in all, I would (and will) stay here again!
Excelente custo-beneficio!
“Lovely hotel overlooking the sea. Perfect unless you find hills and steps difficult”
We stayed here for seven days (20-27 June). The hotel is on the outskirts of Praiano, on the Amalfi side. It is perched directly on the cliffs overlooking the sea with a small inlet just beside it where there are beach services, four restaurants and boats and water taxis going to various destinations. The reception staff were always friendly and courteous and the staff at breakfast were just wonderful!!! Always cheerful, welcoming and often offered special delicacies e.g. homemade buffalo mozarella or doughnuts just prepared. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was lovely. It was a very relaxed experience with no rush between courses however the waiting staff were not quite as friendly as in some of the nearby restaurants. There is a small pool with six beds beside it. This was a lovely area however, due to it's size, it was often out of bounds as there was often a family group there which meant there was no room for others. We went for the second from best room and had a small balcony with a small table and two chairs on it. It was wonderful to look out in the mornings at the water traffic to and fro. The room was a good size as was the bathroom, however, a few pointers to note. Firstly, there were very few electrical sockets - we had to unplug the TV to get one free for our phones. For ladies, the lighting for make-up is not good. The TV is situated over the dressing table so there is no mirror there. The mirror in the bathroom had very poor lighting around it for make-up application. Also, there was a hairdryer in the bathroom but it was of the travel type with no nozzle so, whereas it is possible to dry your hair, it is impossible to style it. One thing that is important to mention is that this may not be the place for you if you find hills and steps difficult as it is impossible to get anywhere without having to climb a couple of flights of stairs or walk up and down at least two steep hills. Even getting to the bedroom at night, one exited the lift on one's floor and then had to descend a flight of stairs, These are all very small niggles. All in all, I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.
“Un hotel en un lugar increíblemente bello”
Ubicado en un lugar increíblemente bello, con unas vistas impresionantes. Las habitaciones luminosas con vistas al mar. El restaurante con buena cocina de la zona y una encantadora terraza. La limpieza muy buena y la atención del personal siempre dispuestos a proporcionar información sobre la zona. Piscina pequeña pero interesante, terrazas con hamacas para contemplar los atardeceres.
“This One Is A Keeper”
Views were amazing and pace was relaxed. Room was pleasant and well appointed. Elevator helped greatly. Parking was limited but adequate. Ate in the restaurant twice for dinner. Food and wine were excellent and wait staff was amazingly friendly, helpful and attentive. Front desk staff was also very accommodating. Hotel breakfast was the best we had during our two week trip to Italy. Will recommend to friends and hopefully be back ourselves.
“A most wonderful experience”
Many before me have reviewd the Onda Verde, I canot add much more . It it a fantastically well run family Hotel with stunning views over the sea from your room balcony or the restraurant external balcony where they hold candle light dinners.Access to the Hotel is made that much easier using the hotel lift which whisks you down 6 floors to reception from the roadside carpark. The hotel is located in Priano situated on the clifff face which is equally distant between Positano and Amalfi Town both being served by the local SITA public bus service.
I would like to pay my particular respects to Francisco in reception, who was extremly helpful and the Restraurant Metre'de, Mateo. Who was so attentive and helpful when choosing menu items or the correct Italian wine for dinner. In fact all the staff and management were extremely nice and helpful in every way. It will always be my pleasure to fondly remember and recommend the Onda Varde to my friends.
“Didn't want to leave”
This was our second visit and they never fail to impress us with their level of service and friendliness. This small family run hotel is beautifully maintained and is in an idylic spot overlooking the Mediterranean sea. It is now complemented by the recent addition of a swimming pool. We had a sea view room with a terrace which was spacious and decorated in typical Italian style. Daily maid service ensured that the room was kept spotlessly clean. Taking meals in the restaurant in the evening in the warmth of a Mediterranean late spring was a gastronomic delight. The food was so fresh and inspiringly prepared by the very talented chef. We cannot recommend it too highly. You must go. We certainly hope to again.
“Perfect!”
We have been savoring our time at this wonderful hotel ever since we returned home and it has continued to give us smiles and seems to have made our hearts bigger?! We can't say enough good things about the family and staff that offer their friendly and professional service everyday. We stayed 14 nights arriving May 17th and enjoyed their inclusive option. We were picked up at the airport by a very kind driver in a beautiful car we also had an option of lunch or dinner daily and everyone enjoys a large ever changing breakfast everyday. We enjoyed 3 trips all arranged for by the exceptional front desk (two trips included with our inclusive package, Capri and Pompeii ) one was a night concert in Ravello and all first class. We arrived to a new addition a beautiful swimming pool that we took advantage of often and we swam in the ocean almost daily just a short walk away. Praiano was a perfect spot for us to explore the Amalfi coast and come back to the peaceful beauty of the hotel. Easy access to the local bus and everywhere but we mostly took a water taxi all arranged by the hotel to visit the nearby towns. We did take the local bus from Amalfi to Ravello one afternoon and walked back down to Amalfi that was spectacular then when ready you just call and the boat will just pick you up and take you back to Onda Verde. The area around Onda Verde has lots to do with other bars and restaurants dive shop kayak and boat rentals art galleries it is as active or peaceful as you choose. The restaurant at the hotel is great, upscale and beautiful at every hour of the day. We are vegan/vegetarian people and the exceptional Chef and staff recommended or simply made dinners for us and we enjoyed our long dinners or lunch and the staff are real people nice fun and yet so professional in their service. We became super fans and have rearranged other travel plans because we have not had enough. We met other guests that have been returning for years and we talked about telling others of this wonderful destination and perhaps that's what has taken me so long to actually tell the world about this gem but we traveled here after reading reviews here on the Tripadvisor looking for a hotel to explore this part of Italy that was close walking to swimming in the sea and then perfect and we are so happy for our time at Hotel Onda Verde and can't thank the family and staff enough. Just for the record our daily housekeeping care was perfect and the detailed landscaping and common sun decks beautiful and well care for. We loved the time of year we were there and look forward to returning to this perfect place....
“Wishing for a return visit ”
Amazing and passionate staff who have done much to ensure your visit is as romantic and restorative as possible. The rooms are well furnished, and the locations give enviable views of the scenery. The location is ideal for relaxation, or genteel exploration of the cliff walks or town of Praiano itself. The food doesn't get much fresher or better than this. Sad to have left!
“Excelente”
“Wonderful friendly Hotel.”
We recently spent four idyllic nights here. The pure blue Mediterranean sea view from our room & the restaurant was stunning. The staff could not have been more helpful from the moment we first made our reservation to their local trip advice once we arrived. My husband hurt his foot & the staff went way beyond expectations helping him get treatment.
We liked the quieter location just outside the Town of Praiano, which we easily walked to along car free footpaths starting directly opposite the Hotel.
The hotel is by a very small beach, so there are plenty of local restaurants there. Most importantly there is also an excellent Boat Tour Company, so we were able to take water taxi's to Positano & Day trips to Capri from feet away from the hotel....avoiding all the road traffic above.
“Wonderful stay”
We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel. Wished we had stayed longer. The staff was really great and helpful. The hotel is well maintained and the room was spacious and well equipped. The view from the room's terrace was incredible and extremely relaxing. The hotel's restaurant wad great as well.
“First time on the Amalfi Coast”
When visiting an area for the first time, the arrival at what will be your home for the coming days/weeks is to me very important, that reassurance you got it right, is a great start. We arrived at Onda Verde via a taxi organised by the hotel, driven by a friendly young man who provided us with some useful information through the journey. We went to reception and the friendly face of Fernanda checked us in and we were taken to our room. The room was clean, quite spacious and when we opened the doors to the balcony, we had a lovely view over the sea, we felt we had got it right!. Breakfast was served in the dining room, there was enough variety to please all tastes, we also experienced both lunch and dinner at Franchino the hotel's restaurant, and were more than satisfied on both occasions. The staff were very accommodating through out our stay, if I had one disappointment it was the size of the swimming pool, but let us not forget, this is graded as a three star hotel, and if I really wanted to swim, there was a big expanse of water I could use not very far away!
“The views, the restaurant and the tranquility!”
Again, thanks to the contribution of others on TripAdvisor was able to find this wonderful hotel on the net. From the minute we arrived and then led into our room, opened the doors and went out onto the balcony, fell in love with this hotel. It is located at a midpoint between Amalfi and Positano. You can get to both by bus, just over a Euro or by boat virtually two minutes walk at the Botton of the cliff where the hotel is situated. Have done both, the boat much more relaxed and pleasant. Well the buses are an experience and have to be done at least once, but be warned they can take an hour or more to travel no more than 7 kms at times. They are reasonably frequent, but fill up fast. We have been here for 6 nights with 2 more to come. Our room is quite large with views over to Marina Praiana Beach and the coastline. The bathroom is quite big by Italain standards and the shower pressure great. Whilst there are about 4 restaurants within a 2 minute walking distance, we have dined in every nite at Ristorante Franchini. The food and variety on the menu has been plentiful and varied. The quality has been exceptional, prices more than competitive with those below, not to mention the wonderful views of the coastline. The staff in the restaurant have been great and a special thanks to Michele, Matteo and Anna for looking after us. The hotel is family run and both Francesco and Fernanda at the front desk have made our stay more than welcome and have been extremely helpful with our requests. By the way both the pool and the local beach are great. Lots of deck areas to enjoy the coastline.
“Peaceful location, stunning views”
Stunning views from this fairly isolated cliff side hotel, which is peaceful, immaculate and perfectly sited between Amalfi and Positano, with a superb water taxi service operating from the marina right by the hotel. Well appointed rooms with excellent air conditioning and a great breakfast from the airy restaurant looking across the sea. The pool deck is very pretty and throughout there was a sense that we were the only guests, despite it being full, such is the abundance of decks and lounging areas. Front desk were very helpful, allowing us to change rooms on our second day owing to minor noise issues (we go to bed early) without any fuss, and greatly assisted with travel arrangements. A very solid recommendation.
“Go there and enjoy.”
Excellent place, people, facilities and food. Free parking too which is really useful on the Amalfi Coast. Francesco was very helpful. Hint...insist on a room FACING the water for a much more enjoyable stay.
“Luxury”
We stayed here for 4 nights and it was fabulous. This is really a resort with trimmings to please. The pool is set in a beautiful garden with begonias in full flower and nice sun beds to relax on. The rooms overlook the harbour so you wake up to a stunning view of blue water each morning. The breakfast is plentiful and varied with eggs, bacon, toast, cakes, fruit, yogurt, cereal etc served in the dining room which also looks out over this magnificent view. The staff are all caring and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and although the shower was a little small this is usual in Europe we couldn't have cared. The local bus stops outside the hotel to take you to Amalfi, Positana, Sorrento etc and the water taxis and boats to Capri are at the waters edge of the hotel. Very happy to have stayed here. Thank you to the staff.
“Lovely hotel ”
Great facilities, excellent customer service by all, a special mention to the special il bello giovane , lovely location, took care of our car, good distance to major areas , amazing views from our balcony
“The Absolute BEST on the Amalfi Coast”
Positano is beautiful but incredibly busy. Amalfi is also amazing, but also very busy. Tucked right into the cliff between these two bustling hot spots is Praiano, and Hotel Onda Verde. I was just there for my wedding and honeymoon, and here are a few reasons why YOU need to make it your destination too:
1 - The hotel is family owned and operated which makes it feel like you're family too. Fernanda and Francesco run the front desk and are chock full of so many tips, details, and connections to help make sure your stay and your adventures around the coast are amazing.
2 - The food is absolutely out-of-this-world. Ristorante Franchino is the hotel's restaurant and the chefs are incredible. Opt for the half-board package and enjoy breakfast and dinner every night. My wife (I can say that now!) and I ate like royalty for 9 days.
3 - The location is perfect because it's situated on the cliff next to La Praia (the beach and water taxi dock), so you can get quick boat trips without really going anywhere. AND, because Praiano doesn't have any touristy shops, the town makes a great place to come home to after a busy day in other places.
4 - The staff makes you family. Anna, Michele, Mateo, Francesco, Fernanda, Miro – everyone simply makes your day better. Whether it's greeting you for breakfast, toasting you at dinner, or trading stories in-between, we honestly miss the "family" we had when we were there (and can't wait to return soon).
5 - You cannot beat the price, the amenities, or the food. Getting the all-inclusive package makes your stay hassle-free and affordable. Sure, there are other hotels with different amenities, but they either lack the view, location, value, food, or people to make your stay truly memorable.
We loved our 10 days with the Milano family and Hotel Onda Verde, and already counting the days until we can go back and visit again.
Book it. Right now. You won't be disappointed.

“Stilvolle Oase der Ruhe direkt am Meer”
Angenehm großes Zimmer mit direktem Blick auf das Meer. Sehr schöne Möbel und ein fantastisch komfortables Bett. Ein für italienische Lebensart gutes Frühstück mit viel Obst und Früchte, welches man auf der Terrasse zum Meer stilvoll genießen kann, und das ohne Autolärm! Was will man mehr?
“AMAZING!”
We loved the location, the food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful! Our room had a great view and we loved the decor! We also liked that the bus stop comes right to the hotel and the water taxi is just below the hotel! We will definitely come back!!!
“Wunderbare Aussicht”
“Best hotel in Amalfi region.”
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Onda Verde. Wow what an wonderful
place to stay. First of all the family that own it are just great, so helpful.
The hotel is beautiful, super clean, quiet, great beds and the most amazing breakfast.
Parking is a real bonus in this region. The Onda Verde is in the centre of the Amalfi region, so sightseeing is very easy. The hotel is happy to help you book tours if you would rather not drive.
Dinners here in their beautiful dining room are also excellent and very good value.
Do yourself a favour look no further just book a room at the Onda Verde.
This is our favourite hotel in the world!
“Relaxing in Amalfi”
This is a picturesque setting that inspires wonder and joy. I love this hotel. The views impress and accommodations are wonderful. The room was very clean, the bathroom was spacious and the balcony provided great relaxing moments. The hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. They speak enough English to bridge any language barriers. The restaurants and food are fantastic. We loved the walks and culture of this little village by the sea. The pool and outdoor lounge areas are very private, clean and comfortable. We felt like it was a romantic paradise. I will definitely come back. Thank you to all the people at Hotel Onda Verde.
“INVOLVIDABLE”
“Best hotel and holiday we have had”
Amazing location, perfect for travelling across the whole coast. Really peaceful in the morning and night but right by a bus stop to visit the rest of the area. Views from room are incredible. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, have everything you need. The hotel is lovely and they are installing a pool also. The Milano family and the rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They really help make your stay even better. The restaurant was also the best food we had during are stay.
Honestly can't recommend this hotel enough. My girlfriend and I are already planning on returning next year and staying that little bit longer this time.
Thank you to all the team at Onda Verde
“Fantastic location and great room”
We've just returned from a couple of nights at the Onda Verde. A lovely experience with it seems all rooms with a sea view, friendly staff, lovely rooms and a decent breakfast. We stayed in #106 which appeared to have a bigger outside terrace; the room itself was spacious with nice tiling and a comfy bed.
Breakfast in the restaurant was nice, refined and relaxed. Great thing with boutique hotels is that it never feels like you're one of the five thousand being fed, and with typical Italian pastries and cakes, savoury options including meats and cheeses as well as a large fresh fruit selection there's ample for all.
Location wise, you're about 15 mins walk to Praiano and with a bus stop outside its really easy to get the bus into Amalfi (20 mins); we even had a hire car but decided to give it a rest from driving as the coast road gets a bit arduous after a while. A couple of decent restaurants close to the Onda Verde too so despite what seems a slightly remote location, the place has fine dining within and on the doorstep.
We'd come back here in a flash. May was nice and quiet by the way!
“Great holiday”
We spent a week on the all inclusive package with trips to Pompeii and Capri, a wonderful hotel, nice room, beautiful food and drink and great location to nearby amalfi coast locations. Highly recommend to couples. Good bus system to travel around.
“Fantastic!!”
My girlfriend and I had a two night stay here in April during our tour of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. What a beautiful hotel! We were given a room with the most amazing view of the Amalfi Coast with a large terrace for sipping drinks on in the evening. The room itself was beautiful furnished and even had a Jacuzzi. On arrival we were greeted by the wonderful and friendly Fernande (I hope I spelt that right) who was most accommodating and offered excellent advice on the local area. Breakfast here is beautiful with great views from the breakfast room and plenty of choice. I like the pastries and cakes that the Italians serve at breakfast it's such a refreshing change from the standard cooked type. We didn't have dinner at the hotel as we had such good choice nearby but each evening the restaurant seemed full. There is a small pool here but the harbour is just below the hotel and there is a small beach adjacent where you could go for a swim if you wish. Overall we had an excellent stay and I can highly recommend this establishment.
“Tranquility and sea views”
We had gelato and coffee on the terrace and enjoyed a wonderful afternoon. It is a romantic place within one of the fjords of Amalfi coast and provides silence, beautiful views and a really relaxing atmosphere.
“Beautiful - Romantic holiday!”
My husband and I were booked to spend 4 nights at this lovely hotel. We loved it so much we extended for an extra night! This is a family run hotel. The hospitality is 5 star in my opinion. Super friendly and extremely accommodating! The rooms a clean, very well appointed and the views from every room in the hotel are AMAZING. The breakfast was delicious. Dinner in the restaurant is romantic and the food and service was first rate! The staff also helped coordinate our excursion to Capri..everything was just perfect!!! Thank you so very much Onda Verde!! We can hardly wait to return.
“Wonderful view”
Our room was very nice. Very comfortable beds and a large shower as European showers go. The view was spectacular. The restaurant served very tasty food. The family owned and operated staff was friendly and efficient.
“Fantastic Hotel - we'll be back”
This hotel is amazing. Set on the rocks on the Amalfi Coast it has a glorious position with super views. The room was excellent, clean and tastefully decorated with balcony and a shared terrace. A new swimming pool enhanced the stay. All the staff were helpful and being family run really took care of us. I cannot recommend it more highly and we are planning to return later in the year.
“Stunning location, wonderful service and beautifully styled hotel premises.”
This hotel is spread over 6 floors and clings to the edge of the Amalfi Coast near to Praiano with a fantastic vista greeting you every morning.
The hotel is very tastefully decorated and designed in classic Italian style in relaxing surroundings on the otherwise busy part of the Sorrento peninsula.
The staff really take care of you and I cannot recommend this family owned hotel highly enough.
My spouse and I enjoyed a wonderful few days at the Onda Verde Hotel which we shall remember fondly for a long time.
Can't wait to go back.......
“Perfect honeymoon hotel”
Wow what can I say ? This hotel is a complete and utter gem - romantic and peaceful. The views are amazing. The hotel is perched on the side of a cliff and a lift takes you from the carpark down into the hotel. It is fantastic and we will definitely be returning.
Our room was elegant and crisp with a balcony that looked out onto the terrace . We had a good sized bathroom with a whirlpool bath. The mini bar was well stocked and not over priced.
We ate all of our meals overlooking the sea. The food was excellent and there is an extensive menu. The restaurant staff were very extremely helpful.
You can walk to a nearby cove where there are some more really good restaurants so really you don't need to leave the hotel !
“An amazing view !”
Great stay in Onda Verde hotel !
I had made a mistake in my reservation, and the staff was very helpful to find a solution ! The view is just astonishing, and by next week a brand new pool will be open ! We were with our 3 children, and everyone was kind to them also !
Special congrats for the breakfast ! Do not plan to leave early in the morning, you will want to laze around, totally amazed by the morning light on the sea ! In return, you will not have the evening sun in the hotel, so plan to chill out late to have the most of it !
“Lovely location; attentive and helpful staff.”
Room was very nice with a little balcony overlooking the sea. With perfect weather we were able to sit outside for breakfast and the views were stunning. Breakfast very pleasant buffet with a good choice and some nice touches eg pizza one morning and freshly made doughnuts on another! Food was very good - fish was always excellent and the fillet steak was perfectly cooked; they were very accommodating when it came to sharing dishes and this meant that we could try different things.
There were various sun terraces and these were lovely and peaceful with beautiful views and comfy seats.
We walked the Path of the Gods which was quite tough but worth doing. We also enjoyed walking through the little footpaths through Praiano and this saved walking on the busy main road. Spent one day in Pompei which was very worthwhile.
“I its placec perctly between positano and Amalfi. and not far from Naples.”
The staff is familar, kindly and do there best to serve you. The room was clean and in good size. The hotelt has parking, lift Down and is placed so beautyfull directly to the sea. The breakfast is very good, and both tradional, fruit and cake. And excelent coffey
“Amazing stay at this beautiful place”
We had such a wonderful time in this paradies-like place. The room with sea view was breathtaking. We have not been to a place like this before. We enjoyed the breakfast outside in March already and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very good as well. Same for all the friendly staff in the hotel. What a great place to work at. I would highly recommend this place for Honeymoon couples. It is very romantic.
“Everything we hoped for and more!”
We have just returned from a 5 day visit to the Onda Verde Hotel. We have nothing but good things to say, the location is amazing, our room was a good size, clean and well furnished with a great view of the sea from our balcony. The Hotel arranged our taxi transfer from the airport and this is a great service. We went to this hotel on a recommendation from freinds and we were not disappointed. The family that run the hotel couldnt be more helpful. Miro the owner, drove us to Amalfi to join a tour, as the tours had not yet begum, his son, Francesco, collected us. They were helpful throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble. Our favourite was the daughter Anna, she is a joy! Full of smiles and jokes to make you laugh but also very kind and helpful. She made the restaurant experience each day a treat. The breakfasts were excellent and a good start to the day. We were a little disappointed with the first evening meal but each day the food got better and better, we mostly chose the chef's specials and they were very good! Anna even kept my favoutire dessert to serve me on our last night, even though it was no longer on the menu. It was a little noisy listening to the cars and buses beeping their horns as the passed through the tunnel but after a while we loved the sound as we understood the need to do this for safety on a very narrow road. We visited Positano, Capri, Pompei and Amalfi on our trip and each day we were delight to go back to the peace and quiet of our hotel in Praiano. We will definitely go back for another visit. Thank you to Miro, Francesco and Anna and all the other lovely staff for making our stay so wonderful. We hope to see you all again in the future.
“Amazing”
The location is absolutely fantastic. Staff cannot do enough to help you. Evening meal with little personal touches and side dishes are fantastic. The location between Amalfi and Positano is very convenient. Take a walk to Positano, you will not be sorry. Hotel booked trip to Capri and to Versuvius. Worth the visit.
“Beautiful views”
Fantastic hotel built into the cliffs at Praiano. We stayed for 4 nights and never got tired of the view. The room we stayed in was well laid out with a large bathroom and we had a great view out over the terrace and into the bay. There are a few restaurant in the area and you can also catch a bus up the road to explore Positano and surrounding areas. The staff were not overly friendly but professional in their approach. There are a few stairs and a walkway down to the beach, I recommend you take appropriate footwear to walk on the beach as it is all stones. The beach also gets crowded so booking a sun lounge allows for a more relaxed and comfortable day. At the beach you can also hire a boat to take you on day trips or for a short trip to Positano. In Positano you can also catch the ferry to the island of Capri. At the base of the hotel along the walk way is the pirate bar/restaurant, we ate there a few times and the staff and meals were very good.
We enjoyed our stay at the Onda Verde and I am glad we stayed here, we did contemplate staying in Positano but thankfully our friends recommended this place, hopefully we will get back here very soon.
